Audience

The website is intended to provide information which will be relevant for the whole population from patients to individual members of the dental team, health service personnel and all those with an interest in dental matters.

Development

scottishdental.org has been developed and supported in collaboration with representatives from:

• Scottish Dental Practice Based Research Network,
• Dental Clinical Effectiveness Programme
• and the Dental Health Services Research Unit at Dundee.

The portal site will be managed within the SDCEP initially and there is much scope for future development. This could include provision of newsletters, secure areas for the use of members of the dental team only, specific e-communities, hosting of sites for dental managed clinical networks, knowledge updates, continued professional development and others. The success of Scottishdental.org will depend both on the level of use of the site and the involvement and sense of ownership by both the dental profession and the public. Therefore we trust that you will not only use the site but find it informative and take the opportunity to provide feedback.
