James Lind Alliance Oral and Dental Health Priority Setting Partnership

Oral and Dental research in the UK is world-leading. Nevertheless, it is fragmented and does not receive the funds it deserves, resulting in a small National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) portfolio of research, and a possible shortage of evidence to inform decision making. One solution to this would be to identify the research priorities in relation to oral health in order to focus research on these priorities.

A groundbreaking partnership has been launched to identify unanswered questions relating to oral and dental health research from a patient, public and clinical perspective. The NIHR CRN Oral and Dental Specialty Group in collaboration with Dental Schools’ Council and Public Health England have developed a new survey for oral and dental health designed to identify research priorities and this was launched at the BSODR Annual Meeting in September 2017.

We invite contributions from everyone, whether they are members of the public, patients, carers or health and social care professionals and we are interested in anything to do with care of mouth, teeth or gums!

Have your say by filling out our survey and help to shape the future of Oral and Dental Health Research.

The survey will be open until 31st January 2018.
